The program of the D.Phil. in IT offered by Avrio institute is definitely a course you should consider.
Our online IT D.Phil. The diploma includes few modules to study and a thesis, this course takes you 2 years to finish. During the 1st year, you will study our modules, and the 2nd year is for your thesis work.
The dual award program requires a minimum of two years to be studied at the Avrio Institute.
The course is designed to equip you with the skills you need to go on to become a more IT professional. Whilst studying this course students will develop their skills. Upon successful completion of the course, students can pursue a career in the IT field.
Upon graduation, the student will get a D.Phil. Diploma in IT from Institut Avrio de Genève in Switzerland
Transfer credits
To transfer your credits from other institutions, you need to send your application including an official transcript from your previous/current institution.
Please note Avrio Institute does not accept applications for the last semester. So, you may repeat a semester. What does it mean? You need to study for one year at Avrio at least, in this case, the fee will be equal to 75% for 2 Years (If applied for the dual award) or 50% for one year of the total fee of the program. Also, in this case, your application fee will be increased.

Admission Criteria
To enroll in the D .Phil program, the requirements are:
- Previous study: Master or equivalent
- Age: 25 Years or more
- English: IELTS 7, or equivalent. However, you do not need such a certificate if you are:
- From English-speaking countries, or
- A high school certificate holder from English-speaking schools, or
- A holder of a High School, Bachelor’s or Master’s from an English-Speaking institution.
- Conditionally, a full-time employee of an English organization for the last 2 years. In this case, need to prove the duration and Job position and you will be asked to take our English Test.
- Selecting intake: Our program has been designed to give a chance to all students to start their studies when they are ready to take this step towards a better tomorrow. The applicants who would like to enroll in this program, have to select the intake they would enroll into. At Avrio Institute we do have 5 Main intakes per year, and there is the possibility to individually start with convincing reasons. In total we do have 10 intakes per year, they are as below:
- Main Intakes: They take place during the 1st Week of January, March, May, August, or October
- Individual intakes: They take place during the 1st Week of February, April, June, September, or November
- NOTE: December and July have no intakes because we do issue Diplomas in those months.

D.Phil. Top-Up
D.Phil. Transfer Credits:
Students who hold a Level 8 Diploma in IT or those who have studied/are studying at any other educational institution, can apply for the Top-Up Program to continue their studies at the institute from where they left or left off.
Top Up Duration:
The minimum required duration to finish the program after transferring credits, up to 60 credits, will be one year or more.
For the dual award, the required duration to complete the program is one and half years, up to 90 credits, with a possibility to increase the duration based on what the Doctoral candidate has done at the other institution.
The exact duration and credits to transfer can be determined after submitting the application for admission.
On completion of this course, students will graduate with the following certificates:
- Doctorate in Information Technology Diploma in the specialization from Institut Avrio de Genève (read more about the quality of education)
- If no scholarship is applicable, the students will have an option to top up their study with no additional fee (one additional year is required, in total 3 years) in order to graduate with the own University Doctor of Information System (Dr.) of Azteca University in Mexico with the respective specialization of the respective Institut Avrio de Geneve diploma. The University itself is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education in Mexico. For more details please click here (A student must apply for the dual award)
- Optional: If no scholarship is applicable, the students will have an option to top up their study with an additional fee of 1,500 EUR (in total 3 years) to graduate with the own University Doctor of Information Systems (Dr.) of UCN University in Nicaragua with the respective specialization of the respective Institut Avrio de Geneve diploma. The University is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education in Nicaragua, and the degree is issued by the University itself. NOTES:
- An early Payment Scholarship is not considered a scholarship. That means even if you get the early payment scholarship, you will graduate with the dual award.
- Students who enroll with a scholarship will have to make the payment of the dual award program if they decide later to obtain the degree of Azteca or UCN Universities.
