Transferring Credits into D.Phil. Program

Students must have completed a Bachelor’s and a master’s program with at least 300 credits or equivalent to apply for this program.

The specific requirements for transfer credits may vary from school to school. It is important to check with the admissions office of the school you are interested in attending to get more information./su_pullquote]Students who have completed 60 ECTS credits or equivalent in a doctorate program may be able to transfer credits to skip one year in the D.Phil. program. However, they will still need to complete the remaining credits (One year for thesis work) in order to graduate.Furthermore, Students who are they are at the defense stage may be able to transfer credits to enroll at the same stage of the program. This means that they will only need to complete the thesis in order to graduate. The expected duration is a half academic year (6 Months)Eligibility RequirementsTo be eligible for transfer credits, students must meet the following requirements:

The previous institution must be legally registered in its country.
The student must have completed a bachelor’s and Master’s degree with at least 300 ECTS credits or equivalent.
The student’s previous coursework must be relevant to the program they are applying to.
The D.Phil. credits are no less than 60 ECTS or equivalent.

The Modules of the Academic Year

Module Aims and Description

This module is designed to develop–in particular students preparation for a dissertation. The module discusses issues relating to research philosophy and principles –where ontology and epistemology are examined within the context of postgraduate research. The module develops awareness of both scientific and phenomenological research and the difference between inductive and deductive research and their concomitant methods. Also covered are research design and the choice of research methods available to the researcher –both qualitative and quantitative. Issues relating to the design and construction of a Research Proposal are considered.

Admission is Open! The regular/standard program can be enrolled at any time. To enroll in the D.Phil. program, the requirements are:

Admission Criteria

Previous study: 300 Credits with a Master’s.
Students with Bachelor’s and 240 Credits, may apply for the fast-track postgraduate diploma before they move to the D.Phil. program.
Age: 25 Years or more
English: IELTS 6.5, or equivalent. However, you do not need such a certificate if you are:
- From English-speaking countries, or
- A high school certificate holder from an English-speaking school, or
- Conditionally, a full-time employee of an English organization for the last 2 years. In this case, need to prove the duration and Job position and you will be asked to take our English Test.
- Are you Fluent in English? You can take our English Test!

Credit Transfer

Students who have completed one or more years of study at a higher or further educational institution have the opportunity to apply for credit transfer. This process enables them to continue their studies seamlessly from the stage where they left off, potentially reducing the overall duration of their academic program and the fee as well.

In Addition to the above requirements, the applicant has to submit a copy of the transcript to prove that the applicant has successfully completed the 1^st and/or 2^nd year of the program.
If the applicants have been awarded a diploma from the previous study, a copy of the diploma is required as well.
Please note that there is an additional fee for those applicants who would like to transfer their credits.

Dual Award
